CNC Epoxy Inlays
Carved deep. Filled with color. Built to last.
Logos, names, artwork, and designs — carved into the wood by our CNC, then filled with colored epoxy for a design that's in the wood, not printed on it. It won't peel, fade, or wear off, because it's part of the piece.
How it's made
We start with a vector file of your design (or create one for you — see our CNC milling page). The CNC carves your design into the wood with clean, precise pockets, then we pour in pigmented epoxy, let it cure, and surface it flush for a smooth, seamless finish. The result: crisp lines and vivid color, permanently set into the wood.
Single color or multi-color
Single color is the fastest and most affordable option — one carving pass, one pour, one cure.
Multi-color designs are where things get striking — a full-color logo, a two-tone monogram, layered artwork. Just know what goes into them: each color needs its own CNC carving work and its own separate pour, and each color takes 24 hours to dry before the next one can go in. A three-color design means three rounds of machine work and three days of curing. Beautiful? Absolutely. But plan the timeline and budget accordingly.
Pricing
Epoxy inlay work is billed at $50 per hour plus the cost of the epoxy. Time depends on the size and detail of the design and — most of all — the number of colors, since every color adds carving time and a pour. We'll quote your design before any cutting starts, including an honest timeline based on cure days.
College logos: what we can and can't do
Logos are licensed property, and we take that seriously.
We're licensed for OSU and OU. Oklahoma State and University of Oklahoma logos are ready to go — bring us your project and we can legally carve and fill official logos.
Other colleges: we'd need to obtain a license for that school first. It's often possible — ask us, and we'll look into what it takes.
NFL logos: we can't do these. NFL licensing costs are simply too high for a shop our size, and we won't cut corners on it. The same design spirit in your own custom artwork, though? Absolutely.
Popular projects
Cutting boards and charcuterie boards with a family name or brand. Tabletops and desks with a school logo. Business signs with a logo inlay. Gifts for graduates, groomsmen, and retirements. Tap handles, plaques, and awards. If it's wood and it fits our 5' × 10' CNC, we can inlay it.
Common questions
Why does each color take a day? Epoxy needs a full 24 hours to cure hard enough that we can carve and pour the next color beside it without the colors bleeding or the surface being damaged. Rushing it ruins the crisp lines that make inlays look sharp.
Can you inlay into a piece I already have? Usually, yes — as long as it's flat enough to machine (or we can surface it first) and fits the CNC bed.
Will the epoxy yellow or wear? We use quality pigmented epoxy, and because the color runs deep into the carving rather than sitting on the surface, normal wear won't remove it. Like any finish, direct sunlight over years can affect some colors — we'll advise you on pigment choices for outdoor pieces.
Can you do my company logo? Yes — your own logo is your property, so no licensing is needed. Send us the file, or we'll build the vector from your artwork.
Can you match a specific color? We can get very close on most colors using pigments and can show you a sample before pouring on larger jobs.
